I’m Ferris, A Certified Fishing Guide In Oregon

For over two decades, I’ve been fishing across Oregon with more than half that time spent guiding anglers across the state’s most productive waters. This time, I’ll be guiding you.

My approach is simple: keep you safe, be honest about the conditions, all while ensuring your day on the water feels comfortable, well-paced, and worth the trip. Whether you’re new to drift boat fishing or have years of experience, the day is shaped around your goals and the weather conditions surrounding the river you choose.

Flyfishing the rivers and streams of Western Montana was my pastime as a youth and fishing Oregon rivers has become my passion as an adult. Moving to Oregon provided me an opportunity to not only follow my passion for fly fishing but expand into traditional gear fishing for salmon, steelhead, bass and many other species.

Oregon is a special place with incredible opportunities to fish year round. The Mckenzie River has incredible trout and salmon fishing that persist well into summer thanks to the incredibly cold flow that runs below lava flows in the Cascades. The Umpqua River has become a destination smallmouth bass fishery with thousands of fish per mile with many over 3 pounds. Allow me to share my passion for Oregon fishing with you. We have fished with Ferris many times now. He is very professional and knowledgeable. Tight lines all day every time! As we were pushing off to start our trip yesterday, there was a guy on the bank struggling with a fly rod and a dry fly. The guy told us he wasn’t catching anything. Ferris immediately told him he would have better luck with wet flies. Ferris reached into his fly box and gave the guy a handful of flies. I think this exchange demonstrates the kind of person Ferris is: AWESOME!
